Peppers

Also known as capsicum, sweet peppers, bell peppers or hot peppers. Cultivars of the plant produce fruits in different colors, including red, yellow, orange, chocolate brown, lilac, ivory, deep purple and green. Bell peppers are sometimes grouped with less pungent pepper varieties as “sweet peppers”. Native to Mexico, Central America and South America peppers later spread to other European, African and Asian countries. Whether spicy or sweet, they contain many phytochemicals, which are naturally occurring compounds found in plants and are nutrient-dense. They’re one of the richest sources of vitamins A and C. Just a cup a day can provide more than 100% of your daily needs.
